Haha... got ya to look! I still can't convince my children that I am not swearing. We took a little drive down to the Lower Granite Dam and enjoyed a nice walk. Of course, I had fun with it and the kids rolled their eyes and lost respect for their mother as I made comments like "that Dam walk was really nice". Hello... it is a dam!! I am not swearing!!!!!!! :P
While we were walking we came upon a deer (well only part of a deer) that stumbled upon some bad luck. Or perhaps some coyotes that stumbled into some good luck? Anyway, let's just say that the deer didn't have a good day. It wasn't alive, but it didn't appear that it had been dead for too long. There were lots of tracks around it and shortly after we heard a ton of howling. It was a little unsettling. It didn't help that there was a bit of an echo in the canyon area that added to the creepiness of the pack of coyotes.
No worries. Amazingly, we all seemed to live through it and enjoyed the walk. Well, enjoyed the first half anyway. Poor little Sam ended up with some blisters. For some reason, my children seem to inform me of things like "their shoes being too small"at the most inopportune times. It is helpful to know these things before taking a long walk. Emma, of course, was too tired to walk back and thought that she might die of hunger before getting back to the car. I am sure the coyotes would have shared their dinner but she decided she wasn't that hungry after all.
