They say gratitude is all in the attitude. Having said that, I am forcing myself to have an attitude of gratitude (is that really possible to force yourself to be grateful?). We have been BLESSED to have lots of cherries in the spring followed this summer by pears, apples and plums. Add to that our garden full of rows and rows of beets and 35 more mounds of potatoes to dig up still. Oh, and did I happen to mention that Rick and I are the only beet lovers in the family? I think the kids will learn to love beets this year! All of our spare time (hahaha...as if we really have any) is being filled with picking, pitting, canning and storing. We have over 4o lbs of plums which should make about 50 pints of plum jam and about 5-7 times that amount of apples that still need picked off the trees. We also still need to chop our load of wood and get it put away in the shed. It would also be a good idea to actually clean out the garage so that when the snow starts to fall we could PARK inside the garage. I found myself grateful that my tomatoes turned out so poorly this year. Geez.....we are so blessed, we are so blessed, we are blessed (Yes, I will keep saying it until I believe it).
*the squash was not grown by Bryson's... just purchased from a local grower and I thought it was a good place to throw in the pic
