THANKSgiving

Thanksgiving started out a little rough. The night before Thanksgiving I was cooking using the back burner and had a little problem with the control panel for the stove top/oven getting warped due to heat. Go figure... Who would of thought that you had to be careful using the back burners or it would destroy the whole oven? There is a serious design flaw with this stove/oven! (Ok, Ok, the picture isn't really mine but I couldn't find one that shows a lady wanting to blow up the oven with a stick of dynamite, uhhh.... just kidding Andrea=)) I was so frustrated when Rick came in from chopping wood with the kids and I had to explain that Thanksgiving dinner was going to be a little more complicated this year since we no longer had a functioning oven- geez!!!! This did not lead to me having an attitude of "thanksgiving".
On a good note, Ben and Laura were able to make it here to be with us for the Holiday. We were very grateful that they would make the 9 hour drive to join us for our non-oven-working Thanksgiving dinner. I tried to make a change of heart and stop dwelling on the the negatives and count my many blessings. We went to bed grateful for friends who offered help and gave us the ability to cook our pies. The next morning we were reminded of the real meaning of being thankful as Ben and Laura announced that our family would be growing more and that we would be welcoming a new baby into the family next summer! So, it looks like I will be a grandma after all! I guess Lauralea (my friend in Texas) knew what she was talking about after all. Congratulations Ben and Laura, you will make wonderful parents!!
