Feelin' A Little Guilt!

I was forced to confess my evil motherly ways after Emma came downstairs one night completely convinced that someone had broken into our house and was stealing things and throwing them away. She was truly upset and frightened. When her father questioned her on why she thought that and tried comforting her and saying not to worry because nobody was breaking into our house, she provided evidence. She said, "But they have to be, because I found these papers in the trash and burn pile and nobody in our family would do that. These are my special papers!" Sometimes the guilt forces out a confession. Did I mention the art class we are doing and how inspired Emma is by it?

All to often the conversation at my house goes like this, while treasures are being pulled out of the trash: Girl 1,2, or 3 "How did that get in there?!" Mom "Oh yeah that doesn't belong in there does it." Then I make a mental note to push it further down next time. HA HA!

I'm impressed you've managed to keep your kids in the dark for so long. I think mine learned to dig through the trash for their treasures by the age of one. There has never been any doubt in their minds that their mother would be the one to throw away their treasures.

hahaha this is funny! I do the same things with Makaya's drawings (Kason hasn't gotten the drawing bug yet) but Makaya is overflowing with them...and we have to keep every single thing...so sometimes I will go through and chuck the ones that may not hold any significance...at least visually....anyway...I relate all too well! :)
