It only took 20 years and a lot of prayers on my behalf, but I think my husband has finally accomplished his job. I am domesticated! Much to everyone's delight (especially mine) Rick is the domestic one in the family. Yes, he had to teach me how to cook for the most part and he still enjoys taking over the kitchen occasionally but I did eventually catch on to the whole cooking scene. However he has always been the one who is the gardener and does canning and I have been quite comfortable with that. I only assist him in his domestic desires. This year something strange happened, the cherries on our tree were calling my name! I bought a cherry- pitter, started picking and away I went. We baked, we dried and then it happened- I canned cherries all on my own ( Rick wasn't even in town). Shocking, I know. It must be all the fresh air!

Good job Dee! I have never bottled a thing in my life, and I was just telling my friend on Monday (as we were eating her bottled pears), that she had to teach me this year! It looks like you are having great fun in Idaho! It sure is beautiful!
i noticed the flag was up on the mailbox the other day. was seriously hoping to find a cherry pie in there.
as it turns out, no such luck.
You made a pie and didn't invite us. ;-) Seriously though it looks great!
wanna send that canning pixie dust my way?!?!?! Or do I have to wait 20 years too?? (GREAT JOB by the way :)!!!!!)
