As luck would have it, or it could be my prayers answered, we had to change our plans the night before the big launch. Due to the weather being so cold and the dangerous drop of water levels, we had to go with a new plan for our "boat trip". We traded in the yacht (inflatable raft) for a speed boat (inflatable kayak), planned on day trips in the river, switched rivers and headed for a totally different location. Oh, and the most important part, we traded in the tent for a condo. There is a God who loves me! And now I love our young friends even more than I did before.
Instead of pitching our tent every night, we simply turned down our blankets and crawled into a wonderfully comfortable bed after enjoying the hot tub. Instead of huddling around a campfire for warmth, we took turns flipping the switch to automatically turn on the gas fireplace. Traded in the Coleman stove for the choice of a real oven or grill on the balcony. The camp chairs for the couches complete with satellite TV. Last but NOT least, traded in the hat for a hot shower, blow-dryer and let's not forget- my hairspray. It was my kind of camp out! It was a great call to switch plans, not only for my comfort but we later heard that there was a pretty severe accident/injury by a group on the river that we had originally planned on going to. Thanks Darren and Steph, I'm always up for an adventure with y'all!
