New Place, New Friends

Moving can be a traumatizing thing, especially when you have lived in the same place for so long. Our children never knew any other home and grew up with many of the same friends their whole life. This move has been an adventure in many ways but when the reality hits, it has been a very sad and lonely affair to leave our old friends behind.
From each of our friends we have learned many different lessons. One such lesson that we have learned from our friends the Richards is that you don't wait for someone to friendship you, it is your responsibility to go out and friendship others. York and Stacy seem to be the life of the party and always surrounded by friends, but they are also the first ones to invite others over and welcome them and build friendships. So we decided to take one from their playbook and give it a shot. Every Sunday we try to have a different family over and enjoy an evening of getting to know them. Guess what, it works! We are loving the opportunity to make new friends of great WORTH while cooking up a Texas size meal. I guess you can learn something from an Aggie after all! Thanks guys. :)

Good for ya'll! You sure are making living in extreme cold look beautiful...then I see everyone bundled up in layers of clothes and remember why I stay in Texas.

lol... yeah and the funniest thing is that in every picture we are all wearing the same thing! It looks like we never change our clothes, but it's just because we have to wear our coats in every stinking picture! haha

haha, that is so true though! I am completely with you on the lonliness of moving. This time hasn't been so bad, but every once in awhile, it would be nice to have a friend around :)

Hi Uncle Rick and Aunt Dee! Sure has been a while since I've talked to ya'll. First, gorgeous pics! The kids have grown so much! I'm so jealous of the snow you're getting. Here by Tyler we don't get anything. We're planning a move to the Duluth, Minnesota area, but instead of doing it this summer we're waiting a year to see what the economy does. Anywho... tell the kids hi for me and that I love them. I miss you guys and love ya'll bunches!
